I'm a Medical Informatics researcher at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.
My research focuses on the application of knowledge elicitation, representation, and artificial intelligence techniques in medicine and healthcare to foster knowledge discovery and further advance the quality of care. It includes:
a) knowledge representation for clinical decision support;
b) AI techniques to model patient behavior and the impact of interventions on patient health;
c) the development and applicability of standards for clinical decision support (HL7/ANSI GELLO, ePrescribing; AHRQ eRecommendations for Meaningful Use); for consistent representation and interoperabiliy;
I am appointed representative of Mexico to the OECD - Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) and Health. I am a member of the New England advisory board to the Mexican Government, as part of the 2030 Strategic Agenda for Sustainable Development. I also serve as an advisor to Latin American healthcare informatics entrepreneurs, and other international organizations.
